FRIENDSHIP: HOW TO KNOW WHO REALLY BELONGS IN YOUR CIRCLE

FRIENDSHIP: HOW TO KNOW WHO REALLY BELONGS IN YOUR CIRCLE

The Right Friends Don't Require You to Become Someone Else

If you constantly feel pressured to change who you are just to fit in, that's a warning sign. Good friends don't need you to pretend. You should be able to disagree without being attacked, say “no,” have your own interests, and grow.

Pay Attention to Your Circle

Ask yourself: Do my friends encourage me to become better? Can I trust them? Do they respect my boundaries? Can I be honest with them? Do they celebrate my progress? Do they correct me when I'm wrong? Do they pressure me to do things I know aren't right?

You Don't Need a Huge Circle

Having hundreds of followers doesn't mean you have hundreds of genuine friends. Sometimes, a few trustworthy people are more valuable than a massive social circle. Choose quality over quantity.

Be the Friend You Want to Have

Don't only look for good friends. Become one. Listen. Encourage. Keep confidence. Celebrate others. Tell the truth. Apologise when you're wrong. Show up when people need you.

Protect Your Peace

You are allowed to distance yourself from relationships that consistently pull you away from the person you are becoming. Choose people who help you grow, want to see you win, and remind you of your values.
